Gabe Elias (President-Elect)
is the ECC Systems
Manager at the Charlottesville - UVA - Albemarle County Emergency
Communications Center. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A.
in 2000, at which time he joined the new IT staff at the ECC.
Gabe's work includes not only IT and datacenter/network technologies,
but also broad experience with wireless data networks, legacy and next
generation 9-1-1 equipment and public safety two-way radio and
interoperability systems. He took over systems management of the
RPAC-I, on which committee he has served as secretary, vice chair, and
chair. As RPAC-I chair, Gabe participated in the SIEC (and SIEC-CC)
and helped update Virginia's SCIP and develop a regional interoperability
field operations guide (IFOG) for Region 3. He worked on behalf of
Virginia APCO to reinvigorate the SIEC governance in 2016 and continues
to work with regional and state stakeholders on interoperability and
COMLINC at every opportunity.
